Privacy policy
Last updated 3 October 2026.
1. Who we are
Notehurst ("we", "us") is an independent business-intelligence service covering the UK public record, run as a sole-trader business. This policy explains what personal data we collect about our customers and how we use it. The public-record company data we deliver is covered in section 4.
2. What we collect from you
When you request a free week or subscribe, we collect your name, work email address, firm name, and the regions, sectors and other preferences you give us. If you subscribe, our payment provider Paddle collects your billing details directly; we receive confirmation of payment and your plan, never your full card details. If you contact us, we keep a record of that correspondence. If you phone us, the call is answered by an automated assistant that takes your name, firm, number and message; the call is recorded and transcribed so we can reply. For each email we send you, we record that it was sent. If you use the customer portal, we email you a sign-in link and keep you signed in for up to 30 days. If you add companies to a watchlist, we keep that list with your account; it is not shown to other customers.
3. How we use it
To set up and manage your free week or subscription and your filters, send your emails, respond to you, and, if you agree, tell you about relevant changes to the Service. If you mark companies in your feed (for example contacted, won, lost or not relevant), we keep that feedback with your account and use it in aggregate to improve how companies are ranked. Our lawful bases are performing our contract with you and our legitimate interest in running and improving the Service.
4. The public-record data in your feed
The companies and notices in your feed come from Companies House and The Gazette and describe companies, not individuals. We do not use facts about individual directors to tag or rank companies, we never include personal insolvency, and we do not compile, buy, sell or share lists of named individuals.
5. Who we share data with
We use these service providers to run Notehurst: Cloudflare (website, hosting and database), Resend (sending emails), Google Workspace (our email inbox), ElevenLabs (our phone assistant, call recording and transcripts), Paddle (payments and VAT), Telegram (instant alerts to us when a free week is requested or a call comes in), GitHub (an encrypted weekly backup of our database), and TypeSafe AI's Jev (classifies public-record company data; it never receives your personal details). Where these providers process data outside the UK, their data processing terms apply safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses. We do not sell your personal data.
6. Cookies and analytics
This website sets no tracking cookies. If we measure visits, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies or follow you across other sites. The customer portal uses one cookie, needed to keep you signed in.
7. Retention
Free-week requests that don't become subscriptions are deleted within 12 months. Phone call transcripts are deleted after 90 days. Account data is kept while you subscribe and for up to six years afterwards where needed for accounting and legal purposes. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Email privacy@notehurst.co.uk. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
9. Where Notehurst is run from, and our UK representative
Notehurst is operated from outside the UK. Because we offer the Service to UK businesses, UK data protection law applies to how we handle your data, and we are appointing a UK representative under Article 27 of the UK GDPR whom you or the Information Commissioner's Office will be able to contact. Their details will be added to section 11. Until then, contact us directly at privacy@notehurst.co.uk.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date above will change and, for material changes, we will email you.
