On every company in your email

Score and reasonsA score out of ten for how likely the company is to be worth your time, with up to three reasons and two cautions in plain English.
Procedure and stagePetition, administration, creditors' voluntary or compulsory liquidation, and whether a practitioner is already appointed. Settled from all of the company's notices, and from the Companies House insolvency record when the notices don't say.
Hearing dateFor petitions: the hearing date and the days left.
PetitionerHMRC, a trade creditor, a landlord, a finance company or an employee.
SectorRead from the notice's own description of the business, then the company name, then the SIC code. A second sector where a company clearly works in two, so your filter catches it either way.
Region, size and ageRegion from the registered office, size from the accounts last filed, and the year the company was formed.
Likely assets and still tradingOur read of whether there is property, stock, vehicles or a working business behind the notice.
CautionsDormant accounts, micro estates, very new companies, and strike-off already proposed at Companies House.

What we set aside

So your morning starts with companies, not paperwork.

  • Members' voluntary liquidations: solvent companies closing down, identified even when the notice doesn't say.
  • Final meetings and dividend notices, where the case is already closing.
  • Repeat notices for the same company on the same day.
  • Notices about individuals: personal insolvency is never included.

Questions

Do you get petitions before the Gazette?

No. We read the Gazette the morning it publishes, which is at least seven business days before the hearing. What we add is the checking, grouping and ranking, so the petitions worth your time are at the top.

Do you include directors' details?

No. Everything is at company level. Each company links to its Companies House page, where the public register shows its officers.

How accurate are the tags?

On our first full day we checked every procedure against the notice wording: all 299 that stated one were right. An independent second check of the sector on all 294 companies agreed on about 96 per cent, and the misses it found were then corrected.

Can I change my region or sectors?

Yes, at any time. Reply to any email and it changes from the next morning.
